Doty & Lincoln Receive 21st Century Community Learning Center Grants

Recently Doty Elementary and Lincoln Elementary of the Green Bay Area Public School District were named recipients of a 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant. As part of the grant, each school will receive $75,000 in year one and is eligible for up to $100,000 per year for an additional four years to implement after-school programs at their schools.

Programming through 21st Century Community Learning Centers is designed to improve student achievement, attendance, and behavior by providing enrichment activities for youth during out-of-school hours.

Students attending these programs may receive tutoring and mentoring, homework help, academic enrichment such as experience with hands-on science or technology programs, community service opportunities, and instruction in music, arts, sports, and cultural activities.

District schools that currently have 21st Century Community Learning Center Grants include: Danz, Eisenhower, Fort Howard, Howe, Jefferson, Keller, and Sullivan. For more information, visit the District’s after-school program webpage.
