2015 Academic Competition Results

Over 400 students from 15 northeast Wisconsin high schools participated in the Academic Competition sponsored by Green Bay Area Public Schools on April 14 at West High School. Students competed in one of four subject areas with questions written by University of Wisconsin – Green Bay professors as well as other area educators. In addition to objective questions, English teams also competed in an impromptu essay event.

Riley Burger of Preble High School, won the award for the highest score on the essay portion of the competition.

The competition results are as follows:

English Language Arts
1st Place –  Green Bay East coached by Suzi Carlson
2nd Place –  De Pere coached by Becky Hawley
3rd Place – Bay Port “A” coached by Janelle Bailey
4th Place – Denmark coached by Carrie Latus

Math
1st Place – De Pere coached by Amy Turriff
2nd Place – Ashwaubenon “A” coached by Sue Krausert and Debbie Hendricks
3rd Place –  Sturgeon Bay coached by Cliff Wind
4th Place –  Green Bay East “A” coached by Brandon Quinn and Will Garray

Science
1st Place –  Green Bay Preble “A” coached by David Haller
2nd Place –  Bay Port coached by Anne Schmidt
3rd Place –  West De Pere coached by Jack Batten
4th Place –  Kewaunee coached by Jonel Niesing

Social Studies
1st Place –  Pulaski – coached by Joan Brylski
2nd Place –  Luxemburg-Casco “A” – coached by darrell Geyer
3rd Place – Denmark “B” – coached by Mark Tomashek
4th Place – Green Bay Preble – coached by Paul Abts
5th Place –  De Pere-coached by Bob Spice
