On Wednesday, October 15, 2014, the Green Bay Area Public School District along with many community partners celebrated the opening of Bay Link Manufacturing, the district’s first manufacturing learning lab.

The Bay Link Manufacturing program will allow students to complete projects for local companies, and is located at West High School in Green Bay. High school juniors and seniors enrolled in the program will receive real-world experience in manufacturing, engineering, marketing and business careers. Projects will be completed in the areas of industrial welding, machine fabrication and metals.

Bay Link students will be prepared to attend a 2 or 4 year college to pursue on-going education in the field of manufacturing and engineering, or may be prepared to enter the world of work in an entry-level position.

The introduction of Bay Link Manufacturing into the Green Bay community will do its part to engage youth to support the labor force needs of local manufacturers, and to ensure a vibrant economy in northeast Wisconsin. For more information, click here.
