During the 2013-14 school year, eighth graders at Aldo Leopold raised money for their annual “legacy” gift to be given in their honor to the Aldo school community. After a school visit from the creators of the Word Winder game, the students decided they wanted to buy a giant Word Winder game as their gift.

After the students’ diligent efforts to raise money, enough funds were raised to not only purchase a copy of the game for Aldo, but to also send one to a school of high need in the Chicago area. The gift was delivered to St. Agatha’s Academy on June 10, and the staff and students were so moved by Aldo’s generosity, that they committed to “paying it forward” by purchasing a game for another high need school next year.

Congratulations to the Aldo Leopold eighth graders and their teachers for inspiring others with their kindness and generosity! This is the true meaning of legacy.
