Green Bay Area Public School District DECA Students Compete at Nationals in Atlanta

On May 3-7, teams from three Green Bay Area Public School District high schools competed with other schools across the nation at the International DECA competition in Atlanta, GA. DECA is a business and marketing club that allows students to compete in teams of one or two as they present solutions to business and marketing issues. DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe. The results from the national competition are as follows.

Preble High School
Tom Brennan and Ellie Brennan– 2nd place, Public Relations Project
Brandl Bonetti– National Finalist, Entrepreneurship Innovation Plan
Blake Schweiner and Kassidy Koch– National Finalists, Hospitality Team Decision Making Event

Southwest High School
Mitch McMahon– Medalist, Sports and Entertainment Marketing Role Play
• Southwest High School also achieved Gold Level Re-certification for their School-Based Enterprise.

West High School
Jacob Jones– Medalist, Restaurant and Food Service Management
Kaitlyn Huff, Jennifer Hanson, and Michael Yeager– Gold-Certified School-Based Enterprise
