District Students Compete in State FBLA Competition; East & Preble Advance to Nationals

On April 7 and 8, students from all four Green Bay Area Public School District high schools traveled to Appleton to compete in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) state competition. FBLA is an education association that helps a quarter million students prepare for careers in business and business-related fields. The results from the state competition are as follows. An asterisk (*) denotes the students that have qualified to compete in the national competition in Nashville, Tenn. June 29 – July 2.

East High School

Andrew Pfluger – 2nd place in Business Plan*
Jacob Thomas & Nick VanMatre – 3rd place in Mobile App Development*
Dustin Mellberg & Steve Bors – 3rd place in Website Development*
Kaitlyn Holzer – 4th place in Business Communications
Breanna Killian – 5th place in Word Processing

Preble High School

Madeleine Kotz – 1st place in Client Service*
Marcus Jenerson, Jordan Plate & Alex Vernon – 2nd place in Public Service Announcement*
Vaughan Collins – 6th place in Job Interview
Alex Vernon – Who’s Who in FBLA nominee

Southwest High School

Devin Vincent – 2nd place in Web 2.0 open event
Devin Vincent – 6th place in Cyber Security

West High School

Leo Cortright & Jacob Jones – 8th place in Community Service Project
