Green Bay Area Public High Schools Shine at FBLA Regional Competition

On Saturday, February 1, students from the four Green Bay Area Public School District high schools competed with other schools in the area at the FBLA regional competition held in Kewaunee. FBLA is an education association that helps a quarter million students prepare for careers in business and business-related fields. Students that finished in the top three at the regional competition will advance to the state competition in April.

Preble High School
Preble FBLA placed 5th in the region for Outstanding Regional Chapter with 17 members qualifying for the state competition.

State qualifiers:
Madeline Kotz – 1st place in Client Service
Matt Hall – 2nd place in E-Business
Sheridan Michaud, Sydney Onesti, and Sofia Schabel – 2nd place in Global Business
Vaughan Collins – 2nd place in Job Interview
Marcus Jenerson, Jordan Plate, and Alex Vernon – 2nd place in Public Service Announcement
Luis Franco and Nick Freitag – 3rd place in Business Ethics
Dennis DeBeck – 3rd place in Electronic Career Portfolio
Madeline Neumeier, Heidi Overeem, Brooklyn Robertson, Josh Sinclair, and Brooke Wimberly – 3rd place in Parliamentary Procedure

Haley Siegworth and Paige Wimberly – 4th place in Desktop Publishing

Southwest High School

State qualifiers:

West High School
Jacob Jones and Robbie Jaklin – 3rd place in Hospitality Management

Maya Zorn – 4th place in FBLA Principles and Procedures
Jesse Cayer and Tyler Patnode – 6th place in Emerging Business Issues
Jacob Solis and Leo Cortright – 6th place in Web Site Development

East High School
East FBLA placed 7th overall. Seven students placed in the top 10, and nine students qualified for the state competition by finishing in the top three for their event.
