12th Annual Bellin Health Sports Medicine Night of Champions Winners

Night of ChampionsCongratulations to two Green Bay Area Public School District students and one district coach who were honored at the 12th Annual Bellin Health Sports Medicine Night of Champions on Sunday, May 5 in the Lambeau Field Atrium. According to Bellin’s website, the Night of Champions was created to honor those who contribute more than just athletic ability to the world of sports. The award focuses on an athlete’s character as well as their abilities, on their commitment rather than their statistics, and their academic and community involvement in addition to their athletic achievements. The Night of Champions awards not only great athletes, but great people who put their energy into the positives of athletics while maintaining those values that are missing in today’s environment.

District award recipients are as follows:
Coach of the Year: Bryce Paup, Southwest High School
Breakthrough Athlete of the Year: Natisha Hiedeman, Southwest High School
Night of Champions MVP Award: Armando Torres, East High School

To be chosen for these awards, recipients had to be nominated, and had to meet the following criteria:
• All winners must display outstanding sportsmanship, dedication, positive attitudes, and respect for others.
• All winners must have had contact with Bellin Health, Bellin Health Sports Medicine, Orthopedic Sports Medicine Specialists, or a Bellin Health partner.
• All winners must show a great commitment and achievement in athletics as well as academics and community involvement. We are looking for individuals and teams who excel not only on the field of play, but also in the classroom and community. We are looking for the “total package” individuals and teams.

Please join us in congratulating Mr. Paup, Natisha and Armando on this exciting honor! For more information on the awards, visit http://www.bellin.org/services_programs/night_of_the_champions#
