Friday 5: Hydroponics Program at Southwest High School

Each Friday the Green Bay Area Public School District will upload a 5 minute video featuring a staff member, student, or program in the district. This week’s video features Tom Sebranek’s aquaculture/agriculture class at Green Bay Southwest High School. The greenhouse hosts two large fish tanks that supply the nutrients for tomatoes and other plants. In turn, the plants clean the water for the fish. The class is also conducting an experiment for a local vineyard. Check out this exciting, hands-on learning experience that teaches students urban farming. For more information, you can email Mr. Sebranek at tpsebranek@gbaps.org.

  1. Does the fish tank supply all the plants in there or just some of them, dose it cost more than conventional food or is the fish method cheaper.
