Green Bay Area Public School District Announces 2013 Herb Kohl Foundation Scholarship Recipients

The Green Bay Area Public School District is proud to announce that two district teachers and one student have been named 2013 recipients of Herb Kohl Educational Foundation scholarships:
Senior DeAnn Robertson of Preble High School was named an Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Excellence Scholar
Teacher Jason Krings of Southwest High School was named an Herb Kohl Education Foundation Fellow
Teacher Leah Vandenbush of Danz Elementary was named an Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Fellow

To receive an Excellence Scholarship, recipients must demonstrate excellence in the academic arena and high motivation to achieve, display a broad range of activity and leadership outside the academic setting, and show strong promise for succeeding in college and beyond. Fellowship recipients are chosen for their superior ability to inspire a love of learning in their students, their ability to motivate others, and for their leadership and service in and outside the classroom. This year, $1,000 awards were given to 100 teachers, their schools, and 187 graduating high school seniors in Wisconsin.

The recognition luncheon for district recipients will take place at Red Smith on Saturday, April 13 at noon. Red Smith is located at 2765 Sussex St.

Excellence Scholarship and Fellowship recipients are selected by a statewide committee of civic leaders and representatives of education-related associations and program sponsors. The Kohl Foundation Scholarship and Fellowship program was established by Herb Kohl, U.S. Senator (Retired) in 1990.
