More than 25 students from Southwest High School DECA recently gave back to the community in a unique way – through a three day “Random Acts of Kindness” trip. The trip took place Nov. 18 through Nov. 20 in Chicago, Racine and Milwaukee. Throughout the trip, students participated in activities designed to show kindness to others in a random and fun way, and give back to those in need. Students participated in events and activities such as:

  • Leaving change on a vending machine, delivering coffee and sandwiches to the homeless, handing out carnations, and giving bottled water to bus drivers.
  • Delivering stuffed animals, blankets and treats to a fire station, visiting an elementary school to read books to children, and delivering thank you notes to a veteran’s hospital.
  • Interviewing residents at an assisted living facility about their lives, delivering warm clothes to a homeless shelter, and sorting food and stocking boxes for the elderly at the Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee.
