District 6th and 9th Graders to Receive Netbooks in New One-to-One Technology Initiative

Next week, 6th and 9th grade students at Edison Middle School and Preble High School will be the first Green Bay Area Public School District students to receive netbooks (mini laptops) to use at school and home as a result of the district’s new one-to-one technology initiative. This innovative program will help ensure all students graduate college, career and community ready. To prepare for the netbook distribution, approximately 120 netbooks are being prepped per day, and almost 900 netbooks will be distributed by Wednesday, November 14. When the netbook distribution is complete in mid-December, 3,000 netbooks will have been distributed to all district 6th and 9th grade students.

Parents will receive a handbook with a permission form that will need to be signed by the parent and student and turned in before students can receive a netbook.
