Langlade Elementary Principal Named Outstanding Administrator by State Association

Tammy Van Dyke, principal of Langlade Elementary and the School Within a School for Academically Gifted Learners, has been named an Outstanding Administrator by the Wisconsin Association for Talented and Gifted (WATG). Van Dyke’s award will be presented at the WATG fall conference on Thursday, October 11 at the Blue Harbor Resort in Sheboygan.

Van Dyke was selected for the award because of her advocacy for gifted students and her leadership in helping to meet their needs. Most recently, Van Dyke proposed Green Bay’s first school for academically gifted learners, which is housed within Langlade Elementary and opened this fall.

Van Dyke’s vision for children is creating an appropriate level of challenge for all. She has also worked consistently to provide high quality professional learning experiences for teachers, so they may understand the unique academic, social and emotional needs of gifted children, and are able to employ strategies to engage students at a high level.
