School for Academically Gifted Learners to Open Fall 2012

Arriving in fall of 2012, a new opportunity will be available for academically gifted students in the Green Bay area in third, fourth, fifth and sixth grade. Located in Langlade Elementary, the School for Academically Gifted Learners will provide the appropriate level of challenge for academically gifted students in a rigorous, student-centered and diverse learning environment that prepares students to be world leaders.

To accommodate the unique academic, social and emotional needs of gifted students, instructors will move students at their pace through cross-curricular units that provide depth and complexity while exploring topics of interest.

Students will study Spanish as their world language, and make global connections. Math team, Destination Imagination and EXPLORE testing will also be part of the academic programming.

The program will be housed at Langlade Elementary School, 400 Broadview Drive, and available to students in grades three to six. Student enrollment will be open until Monday, April 30 by visiting the school website at www.gbaps.org/ES/Langlade.
