Beaumont Elementary School receives national Blue Ribbon award

Located one-half mile from the home of the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers are the champions of student learning. Staff and students of Beaumont Elementary School, located at 1505 Gatewood Street, received notice today that they are one of eight Wisconsin public schools to be named a national Blue Ribbon school.

The schools were nominated by State Superintendent Tony Evers based on criteria in two categories:

  • dramatically improving schools that have made adequate yearly progress and have at least 40 percent of their student population on free- or reduced-lunch; and
  • high performing schools that have improved over the past five years to now to be above the 60th percentile in reading and mathematics, and be among the top 15 percent of all schools for that grade configuration on state assessments in both reading and mathematics.

At Beaumont, 55% of students are on free- or reduced-lunch, up from 39% ten years ago. Beaumont’s test scores for students scoring above proficient and advanced were well above the district and state average.
