Rain or Shine, Packers Tailgate Tour to Close at East High School

Weather won’t dampen mood of Packers fans

District employees are watching Saturday’s weather closely before deciding if the closing party for the Packers Tailgate Tour will be held outside in historic City Stadium, or inside the school’s two gymnasiums and cafeteria. Either way, gates/doors will open at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 14. Schedule of events is as follows:

5:00 p.m.        Doors open

5:00-5:20       East High School Pep Band and Drumline

5:20-5:40       Preble High School Pep Band

5:40-6:00       West High School Pep Band

6:00-6:30       Question and Answer session with Mark Murphy and Packers from Super Bowls xxx1 and XLV

6:30-7:15        Connor Sands and the Midwestern Charm

6:30-8:30       Packer autographs

7:15-7:30        Raffle winners

7:30-8:00       Question and Answer session with Forrest Gregg and Jim Taylor

8:00-8:20       Southwest High School Pep Band

8:30               End of Tailgate Tour Party

Tailgate party tickets are on sale now at area Festival Foods and cost $30. Cost includes all autographs (except Gregg and Taylor who will autograph their books only), food, drink and souvenir. Current and former Packers signing autographs for ticket-holders include: Mark Murphy, Josh Sitton, Matt Flynn, Desmond Bishop, Gilbert Brown, Dorsey Levens and Antonio Freeman. A question-and-answer session will be held with these players from 6 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

General admission tickets are also available at Festival Foods for $5, which includes access to the Q-and-A sessions as well as tailgate party activities. Food and beverage will be available for purchase, and there is no access to autographs, except for Gregg and Taylor with book purchase. All ticket holders can enjoy the entertainment, inflatables, face painting and the NFL Play 60 mini-camp. Connor Sands and the Midwestern Charm will provide live entertainment, as well as pep bands and drum lines from the four high schools.

    We have been watching the tour on the news, but never heard where to get tickets for the event in Green Bay….we’d never let our Packers down. 🙂
