Packers Tailgate Tour to Close at City Stadium on May 14

Proceeds to Benefit All Four High Schools

The Green Bay Packers announced plans for the sixth ‘Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour,’ set for May 10-14, 2011, to travel around Wisconsin and Upper Michigan to visit with fans and thank them in person for their support.

The tour will close in Green Bay on Saturday,  May 14, with an evening tailgate party at Green Bay East High School’s City Stadium to support new scoreboards at East, Preble, Southwest, and West High Schools.

Tour celebrities will include Green Bay Packers players, personnel, and for the first time in Tailgate Tour history, special alumni. Celebrities appearing will be announced at a later date.

The tour will take place aboard a customized motor coach emblazoned with the logo “Green Bay Packers Tailgate Tour” and the phrase “Touching Down in Your Community.” In addition to the designated locations, tour celebrities will make surprise stops as the schedule allows.

The evening tailgate parties will begin with the players and alumni arriving at each location at 6 p.m. and will run until 8:30 p.m. The party will feature giveaways, question-and-answer sessions, autographs and food. Tailgate party tickets will cost $30.

General admission tickets also will be available for $5, which includes access to the Q-and-A sessions as well as tailgate party activities. Food and beverage will be available for purchase.

One hundred percent of the Tailgate Tour proceeds will benefit the four high schools.

“We’re looking forward to this year’s Tailgate Tour,” said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. “The tour has become an offseason highlight for the organization and a great way to see many of our fans in their communities. Through the tour we’ll be able to show our appreciation for the fans’ support of the team, and lend a fundraising hand to a worthy local organization.”

Tickets for the tailgate parties will go on sale April 7, with more information available in the coming weeks. Fans interested in ‘Tailgate Tour’ details are encouraged to visit www.packers.com often as ticketing information will be updated as the dates near.
