Online Learning Meets the Needs of Many Secondary Students

Starting the 2011-2012 school year, Green Bay Area Public School District will be offering online classes at the middle and high school level.  This option provides a resource for accelerated learning and enrichment, access to courses not offered in the classroom, sustained progress for students with extenuating circumstances, and the potential for motivated, credit deficient, students to work towards credit recovery.  Online learning provides a welcome choice for those students prepared for this innovative educational path.

Well-designed courses in numerous content areas are currently provided through Northeast Wisconsin Online Network (NEWON) and coordinated through the Alternative Education Office.  Classes are taught by licensed teachers, delivered through the Internet, and may be accessed from home or school computers.  Credit is issued for successful completion of each class.
